My name is Alex and I run the Creepy Crawly Roadshow in the Northumberland and Tyne and Wear area.

I am a qualified animal behaviourist, having gained my BSc (Hons) in Animal Behaviour and Welfare from the University of Central Lancashire in 2004.

The Creepy Crawly Roadshow offers children the opportunity to get close to exotic animals such as cockroaches, tarantulas and pythons. During the show I introduce the children to several animals, explaining a bit about what they are and what they do. I even give children a chance to hold one of the animals.

The aim of the show is to give the children a wider understanding of the natural world, and to help prevent phobias developing in later life. It is a fun and interesting way to learn about habitats, life cycles, adaptations and more and can provide inspiration for art projects and creative writing.
